    • Large room, beautiful decor, delightful garden in the generous grounds
    • Friendly and helpful host, greeted us with a coconut each, nice touch. Gardens are amazing, this is an oasis in the midst of the hustle and bustle of fisherman village, yet it only takes 5 mins to walk to the walking street. Serene pool. Really nice room.

    Cons -

    • Mouldy smell in bathroom
    • Would be nice to be able to pay for breakfast

Ban Kaew is a beautiful retreat walking distance from Fishermen's Village.

Unfortunately, there was a music festival taking place while I was there. Of course, that is not the fault of Ban Kaew!

Lovely place, very calm and green. Very nice and helpful staff . Room design was amazing

    9JackiePosted on: 3-7-2025

Clean spacious room set in beautiful gardens splash pool and loungers fit the vibe

Overall property outweigh the fact it is on a busy main road

I loved this hotel. An island of peace amidst the crazy Koh Samui traffic. Lush vegetation and carefully curated pathways, even a small temple in the middle of the property. Once in a while you can hear the sounds from the nearby monastery, which - in my opinion - fitted the atmosphere of the place perfectly. The room was spotlessly clean and cosy, tucked away from the noise of the street. The manager Mimi is a kind and warm person, she helped us with everything we needed. Highly recommended!

The hotel grounds and gardens are beautiful and the room was comfortable. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the on site restaurant serves great food reasonably priced.

Peaceful grounds to the hotel but the area outside was busy

Beautiful tropical gardens and traditional teak buildings just off the main road to Fisherman's Village and 5 minutes walk to the beach. Our room was a two storey villa with two very large bedrooms full of antique furniture, with separate entrances off a very large terrace containing a big traditional sala. Very good air-conditioning. Below, was a huge sitting/dining room and well-equipped kitchen, again full of antique furniture and ornaments. Very private. We very rarely heard the road, usually only the sound of the birds in the morning and frogs in the evening. Pretty, private little swimming pool, shared with the few other rooms, and a small restaurant with home-cooked food. Lovely, friendly staff, especially Mimi the manager, and the owner Thomas. Immediately over the busy road was a food court and two supermarkets, so very easy to get food and drink. Amazing place, felt like we were living in our own private Thai mansion. Highly recommended.

Nothing that mattered. Bathrooms are a little old-fashioned, but spacious, and only cold water available in the wash basin. Shower was hot and very good.

Our villa was incredible with an amazing terrace. We had rain during our stay and it didn’t matter because we had such a wonderful place to hang out. It felt very special to have the chance to stay here. Nice pool area Great food market across the road

A little far from the centre with small children as had to walk along a busy road. If we didn’t have the kids we wouldn’t have minded.

This traditional Thai style accommodation is superb. The Villas are huge, inside and out, the decked area outside is enormous, with a covered day bed and there is a further, entire open plan floor below, for relaxing!l There is a fully functional kitchen, toilet and shower room on the bottom level also. The decor is traditional and sympathetic to the age and culture of the area. There is a small swimming pool set in stunningly beautiful and mature gardens. Even though the accommodation is just off the main road, it’s a complete oasis of beauty once inside.Very close to Fisherman Village, about 5 minute walk.Great in house restaurant, with home cooked food to suit your taste.Mimi is a fabulously kind and thoughtful hostess, and the the entire team made our stay a great experience.Thank you all very much ?

A little road noise at night, but to be expected due to location.

LOVELY facilities and owners. Beautiful gardens. Very clean. Pure magic. A great experience and would return back.

The only downside is hearing motorbikes as close to the road.

A lot of effort has gone into the planting and landscaping of the development and outside space – in fact it is beautiful however….As nature lover this attracted us to the hotel but unfortunately it just doesn't work.

As nature lover the greenery and water features attracted us to the hotel but unfortunately it just doesn't work as a concept...There is an abundance of standing water which results in huge mosquito problems and the frogs are rampant and something I did not consider - they are so loud (even nosier inside the rooms somehow) making it impossible to sleep. No door on the bathroom (fabric curtain only) and very old and noisy fridge ( which we couldn't switch off due to medication storage) made this is very noisy stay. Such a shame as so much work has going into the outdoor landscaping - it would work better as a daytime retreat.

    10LinziPosted on: 1-28-2025

The property was small with beautiful gardens and quiet pool area. The room we had was beautifully furnished.

That it was on a noisy main road.

    7KarenPosted on: 1-26-2025

Set in lush tropical gardens. Great friendly staff. Mimi the manager was extremely helpful, even booked us a couple of taxis. Room was very big with comfortable beds.

Location was on a main road which was very busy and noisy but an easy 10 minute walk to Fisherman’s Village by the sea withe plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. 7/11 was only 3 minutes walk from resort but very difficult to cross the busy main road to access it.

Immaculate well kept great gardens. Staff could not have been more helpful A little gem

Quite k lot of noise from the road

We loved absolutely everything about the whole place. Location, the amazing staff, our room and the beautiful gardens and buildings .

    Cleaning staff are friendly

1.Location - on a busy noisy road. Not a pleasant walk to the nearest beach as road is so busy with cars and motorbikes.2.Poor communication- We had agreed a late checkout until 4pm with the manager, Mimi, but she did not inform the rest of the staff. Mimi then came to our room at 1.15pm saying we had to be out by 2pm as she had a new guest arriving. We advised we would not be ready and Mimi agreed to the 4pm departure. A cleaner then turned up asking us to move rooms. Considering we had stayed 11 nights and agreed the late checkout, we were disappointed with this behaviour. We left at 3pm.The owner/manager was hardly there during our stay. The hotel is for sale and it looks like the management have already checked out.3. No atmosphere - the restaurant had 1 table service during our stay. The whole place is quite dark and gloomy at night.4. Facilities are limited - pool tiny, only BBC tv channel works and that is patchy
